Francis Family Reunion next summer!
The 2012 Francis Family reunion will be held July 20-22, 2012 in New Orleans. We’re returning to New Orleans, our ancestral home, because we want to build upon the success of our 2010 reunion in New Orleans and we want to bring together more branches of the Francis clan.
With about a year to go, please make every effort to attend the reunion, July 20-22, 2012 in New Orleans.
Francis cousins from across the country met on June 24, 2011 to initiate plans, but we can’t do it alone. We need your ideas and suggestions to make our next reunion a success.
Our initial plans are:
Friday, July 20, 2012
• Meet and Greet -- We’ll gather late afternoon at a host hotel (more
than likely, the Marriott on Canal Street) followed by the main event:
• Dinner cruise – Down the Mississippi River aboard the Steamship Natchez.
Saturday, July 21, 2012
• Day Tours -- Either a tour of a swamp south of New Orleans or a tour
of city universities. A tour on Thursday, July 19, 2012 is possible
for early arrivals.
• Evening Luau at Needa’s House -- In addition to eating some
delicious food, we will recognize newly married couples with a toast.
Sunday, July 21, 2012
• Mass at St. Peter Claver Church -- Let’s give thanks and pray for
our immediate families and the entire Francis clan.
• Closing reception -- We’ll meet one last time either at Delores
Collins’ home or the Francis Family home on Dumaine Street.
What can you do now?
1. Decide that you will attend.
2. Start saving up.
3. Spread the word. (We need e-mail addresses and help locating the
Chicago branch of the family.)
4. Help with logistics (budgets, tours, meals, lodging, transportation, communications).
5. Stay involved. Direct other family members to this blogspot,
(www.francisfamilyreunionblog.blogspot.com), and visit often for updates (or subscribe to the blog by email).
Our next planning meeting is July 22, 2011 via Skype (or any means necessary).
See you in New Orleans.
